WILAA Community of Practice is on a mission to create spaces where people who support Work Integrated Learning (WIL) can learn and access support for accessible WIL. We welcome folks from WIL sites and higher education institutions. We create this learning space to make it easier for students who need accommodations during WIL so they might thrive in their chosen field of work. We create supportive learning spaces where people can develop trusting relationships, express diverse views, challenge our work norms, and raise creative solutions for institutional systems.
A board of elected WiLAA members have been working to create and maintain a thriving community by:
- Sharing interventions developed by the AcTinSite SSHRC funded project aimed at improving accessibility and accommodations for students with WIL components.
- Planning and hosting Events that foster opportunities for practitioners to build supportive networks of knowledge that address the complexities of accessibility and accommodations related to WIL.
- Working to make it easier for students who need accommodations during WIL so they might thrive in their chosen field of work. Holding supportive learning spaces where people can develop trusting relationships. We strive to create spaces that welcome people to express diverse views, challenge our work norms, and raise creative solutions for institutional systems.
